Islamic Studies

A comprehensive Islamic studies programme covering the essential knowledge every student of religion must have — Quran, Tajweed, Ijaazah, Arabic Language, Hadith, Fiqh, and Aqeedah — taught online by qualified teachers with Ijaazah from prominent scholars of the Arab world.

Islamic Studies Online

The Prophet ﷺ said: 'Seeking knowledge is obligatory upon every Muslim' — and the best knowledge is the knowledge of what every Muslim must know. This Islamic Studies course has been designed specifically for students of religion, covering the most beneficial areas of Islamic knowledge in a structured, accessible programme delivered entirely online.

The course is divided into six sections, and students may join any section according to their current level and goals. Whether you are beginning with the basics of Quran recitation, working towards an Ijaazah, studying the rules of Tajweed in depth, or seeking to ground yourself in Hadith, Fiqh, and Aqeedah — each section is taught by qualified teachers who hold Ijaazah from the most prominent scholars of the Arab world.

The Islamic knowledge covered in this course spans the core disciplines that every serious student of religion must engage with: the correct recitation and understanding of the Quran, the authenticated transmission of the Sunnah, the rulings of Islamic jurisprudence, the foundations of Islamic belief, and the Arabic language that underpins them all. The course draws on the most respected classical and contemporary texts in each discipline.

A completely free trial lesson is available with no obligations. Meet your teacher, discuss your goals and current level, and begin your Islamic studies journey before making any commitment.

What This Course Covers

Quran Recitation

Developed for students who want to learn to read the Quran from the basics. Suitable for those not yet familiar with the phonetics of the Arabic language, this section builds correct recitation from the ground up using established foundational texts.

Quran Recitation with Tajweed

It is obligatory to learn the correct pronunciation and Tajweed of the Quran for anyone who is able to do so. This section teaches applied Tajweed through actual Quranic recitation — enabling students to recite the Quran without mistakes and with the rules of Tajweed properly applied.

Tajweed Rules in Depth

A detailed study of the rules of Tajweed taught in English through the most prominent classical books of Tajweed. This section covers all the principles of correct Quranic recitation, their scholarly basis, and their application throughout the Quran — completable in approximately 65 hours.

Ijaazah

The Ijaazah is the formal certification awarded to a student who can correctly recite the Quran and is fully familiar with the rules of Tajweed. Students must pass a recitation examination to receive an Ijaazah for a Juz or for the complete Quran — the credential required to teach the Quran to others.

Language of the Quran

For students who want to learn Arabic in order to understand the Quran directly. This section covers Sarf and Nahw (morphology and grammar), the meanings of the most common Quranic vocabulary, and the study of Quranic rhetoric — deepening understanding through analysis of the Quran's miraculous linguistic structure.

Hadith, Fiqh & Aqeedah

A grounding in the three remaining pillars of Islamic knowledge: the authenticated sayings and traditions of the Prophet ﷺ (Hadith), the rulings of Islamic jurisprudence (Fiqh), and the foundations of Islamic belief (Aqeedah) — covering the essential knowledge that every student of religion must have.
