Learn Ten Qirat Online
Study the ten authentic schools of Quranic recitation with experienced teachers — one-to-one online classes for students who want to go beyond Hafs and explore the full breadth of Quranic transmission.
The Ten Schools of Quranic Recitation
The Ten Qira'at are the ten authenticated schools of Quranic recitation, each named after a renowned scholar of the Quran and preserved through an unbroken chain of transmission stretching back to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. While the vast majority of Muslims today recite in Hafs an Asim, all ten Qira'at are equally authentic — each representing a legitimate dialect and recitation tradition that was taught by the Prophet himself and preserved by his companions.
The differences between the Qira'at are precise and scholarly — slight variations in letters, vowel marks (Harakat), and pronunciation that reflect the original seven ahruf (dialects) in which the Quran was revealed. These are not different versions of the Quran; they are different authenticated modes of recitation of the same divine text, each carrying the same meaning and each transmitted with the same rigour as the recitation you already know.
Our online Ten Qirat course is taught by experienced, qualified teachers who will guide you through each school of recitation systematically — its distinctive features, its chain of transmission, and how to apply it correctly in recitation. All classes are delivered one-to-one, allowing your teacher to focus entirely on your progress and correct your recitation with precision.
