Online Ijaazah Courses

Earn a formal Ijaazah — the authenticated scholarly licence to recite and transmit the Quran — through one-to-one online classes with qualified teachers who hold their own unbroken chains of transmission back to the Prophet ﷺ.

What Is an Ijaazah?

An Ijaazah is a formal scholarly licence granted by a qualified teacher to a student who has demonstrated mastery of Quranic recitation or memorisation to the required standard. It certifies that the student's recitation has been verified, corrected, and approved — and that they are now authorised to teach and transmit the Quran to others. Every authentic Ijaazah comes with an unbroken chain of transmission (Sanad) that connects the student, through their teacher and every scholar before them, directly back to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.

We offer Ijaazah programmes in four areas: Hafs an Asim (the most widely recited narration), Tajweed (the rules of correct Quranic recitation), Hifz (Quran memorisation), and the Ten Qira'at (all ten authenticated schools of Quranic recitation). Each programme is delivered one-to-one with a teacher who holds their own Ijaazah and Sanad, ensuring that the chain of transmission you receive is authentic and complete.

Ijaazah study is open to any serious student — whether you are a fluent reciter working towards your first Ijaazah in Hafs, a Hafiz seeking formal certification of your memorisation, or an advanced student pursuing the full Ten Qira'at. Your teacher will assess your current level in your free trial class and map out the path to Ijaazah from where you are today.

Our Ijaazah Programmes

Ijaazah in Hafs an Asim

The most widely sought Ijaazah — certifying your recitation of the complete Quran in the Hafs an Asim narration to the standard required for transmission. Suitable for fluent reciters ready to work towards formal certification.

Ijaazah in Tajweed

A formal certification in the rules of Tajweed — covering all the principles of correct Quranic recitation, their application throughout the Quran, and the scholarly basis for each rule. Ideal for students who want to teach Tajweed with authority.

Ijaazah in Hifz (Quran Memorisation)

For Huffaz who have memorised the complete Quran and want formal scholarly certification of their memorisation. Your teacher will verify your Hifz page by page and issue an Ijaazah with a complete Sanad upon completion.

Ijaazah in the Ten Qira'at

The most advanced Ijaazah programme — certifying mastery of all ten authenticated schools of Quranic recitation. Requires prior Ijaazah in Hafs and is suited to advanced students with a serious commitment to the science of Qira'at.

Authenticated Sanad (Chain of Transmission)

Every Ijaazah we issue comes with a complete, documented Sanad — your teacher's unbroken chain of transmission back to the Prophet ﷺ. This is the scholarly credential that makes an Ijaazah authentic and recognised.

One-to-One Online Classes

All Ijaazah programmes are delivered entirely one-to-one via online video classes — giving you the focused, personalised instruction that Ijaazah-level study demands, from wherever you are in the world.
